HID-Merger
Description
The HID-Merger is an USB device that aims to pass-through the USB interfaces of a physically attached USB mouse while merging it with the HID interfaces exposed by the Connector.
This is especially needed for GE systems that only allow one USB mouse to be attached at the same time and thus enable dynamic switching of the current active USB mouse without the need of physically replugging either the USB or Connector mouse. The control of the local USB mouse has a higher priority than the Connector mouse. As a result, trying to move both the local mouse and the Connector mouse at the same time, results in only using the mouse movements of the local mouse.

Limitations
- HID Merger Firmware over the air update is currently not possible
- The HID Merger is only operational with relative mouse mode
As of now, remote mouse control using the HID-Merger works only if the relative mouse mode is selected in the KVM session. This is due to the fact that the HID-Merger is mapping the Connector mouse control events to the one given by the local USB mouse. Since the local USB mouse natively only support relative mouse control, absolute mouse control events given by the Connector are discarded.
Status LEDs and Indications
The first step for troubleshooting the merger is by checking its exposed status LEDs. If all LEDs are illuminated green, the merger is working fine and operational. If one of the components stops working (e.g. no local mouse control or no Connector mouse control), please check the LED that is next to the respective USB port. The meaning of the different colors is the following:
| LED color | Indication |
|---|---|
| 🟢 Green | Connected device is detected and working properly |
| 🔴 Red | Connected device is detected, but not supported by the merger. Please verify the correct port and device type |
| 🟡 Yellow | Connected device is detected and binding it to the merger is in progress |
| 🟡 Blinking Yellow | Merger firmware update is in progress |
| ⚫️ Off | No device is detected |
